Regular maintenance can identify wear or adjustment issues before a door stops, but the inspection schedule depends on system type, operating cycles, site conditions and the manufacturer’s instructions.
Signs that merit inspection
- A new noise or vibration during movement.
- Delayed opening or closing, or repeated stops.
- Unreliable sensor or controller response.
- Friction or misalignment in tracks or moving components.
- Visible damage to cables, slats or safety components.
Do not bypass safety equipment
Isolate the system according to site instructions where a hazard exists. Do not defeat a sensor or safety device to keep operating; inspection and repair should be performed by a person qualified for the installed system.
What should be sent before a visit?
Send the door type, model, nameplate and controller photos, and a short fault video where it is safe to record, together with the site address and number of doors. This information helps determine the next step without promising a final remote diagnosis.
