An industrial air curtain should not be selected by unit length alone. The air stream needs to reach the required separation area and suit the entrance height, wind, building pressure and door operation.
Start with the opening dimensions
Record the width and the height from the proposed unit position to the bottom of the opening. Note suspended ceilings, obstructions and maintenance space. Wide openings may require more than one unit according to the approved design.
Review operating conditions
- How long and how often the door remains open.
- Temperature difference between inside and outside.
- Direct wind and drafts created by ventilation.
- Dust, activity type and hygiene requirements.
- Installation position and acceptable noise level.
- Power supply and periodic maintenance access.
Why does a site review matter?
A unit that performs well under test conditions may behave differently when airflow direction, installation height or building pressure is unsuitable. Site photos, measurements and operating data support a better-informed selection.
